RPG Item Packs - Heaven vs Hell : Swords

As promised here we've started working on our first items pack for RPG games and such. To start with we decided to go with the Heaven vs Hell theme primarily inspired by the Diablo series.

Before we go into the details here is a basic overview of what you can expect to find in each item pack:

• Set of 5 to 10 items of a particular theme, style and category;
• Each item will have a different level of quality with a clear sense of progression. Each set will start off with a low quality item with each subsequent item having better quality, better materials and so on;
• 2 sets of icons for each item, one colored the other inked. All icons will come in PSD and PNG formats.
• Each icon will come in a number of scale variants. For instance a long sword will have a 1 x 3 or a 3 x 1 icon whereas a shield will have a 2 x 2 or 3 x 3 icon. This will let users simply choose the right size for the icon when drawing it on the UI without worrying about the icon stretching out of proportion;

As I have already mentioned the first set of item packs will be done in the Heaven vs Hell theme. As far as the  style of items is concerned we plan to have three distinct styles.
Some items will feature very dark, twisted and rather disturbing designs. Wielded by the darkest spawn of evil as it were. Other items will be more divine, infused with light and powers of the 'good' deity. Of course there will also be a more down to earth set of items crafted by meager human...oids.

There will be a number of item sets for all three item styles.

In addition to item sets we will also plan to release a number of Unique items. Unique items will stand out from the rest in terms of overall design, mesh complexity and of course textures and icons.


Now category wise we will have the following:

• Daggers;
• Swords (Short, long, broad,  in one-handed and two-handed variants);
• Axes (in one-handed and two-handed variants);
• Spears;
• Bows;
• Crossbows;
• Shields;
• Amulets;
• Rings;
• Talismans & Charms;
• Runes;
• Gems;

Currently we are working on the first pack that will feature a set of Short Swords. Here are some concepts for your viewing pleasure from Jack our wonderful concept artist (Bud, I said you're wonderful. Did you see? Did you see?).
